SULPHUR SPRINGS STATION

NAME: Sulphur Springs Station
COUNTY: Eureka
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.
COMMENTS: Interesting country.
REMAINS: Nothing

On one is exactly certain of the origin of Sulphur Springs Station. Some have it as a Pony Express stop, although there is no evidence that it was ever on the Pony Express route. The station was built in 1861 in preparation of the opening of the Overland Stage. The station served the Overland Stage until 1869 when it was abandoned. A portion of a log wall and some stone foundations are all that are left.
