ROSEDALE

NAME: Rosedale
COUNTY: McClain
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Windy
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.
COMMENTS: Rosedale is a tiny farming community in the far southeast portion of McClain County on Highway 59 about 10 miles east of Interstate 35. It is currently populated by less than 100 residents most of them are from the same four or five families. Very few are still around that would remember what Rosedale used to be like.
REMAINS: Very litttle remains of the original town. You really have to do some searching to find any remnants of the original town,.
Rosedale was built along the railroad that pushed through Oklahoma. Once a booming community, it soon declined when the railroad was pulled up through the area. Not much remains of what once was, as buildings have fallen and decayed, they have not been replaced. I am still searching for more history on this, my hometown. Submitted by: Dan Shephard
