COMMENTS: Town has been engulfed by current copper mine.
REMAINS: The cemetery.

First discovered around 1848, by 1873 $2 million dollars worth of gold was dug out. By 1900 gold and silver mining was put on the back burners and copper became king. The Kennecott Copper Corporation soon took over. By 1920 15,000 people lived here. Another town called Highland Boy had also came into existence there. There were 30 saloons in the canyon. By 1972 the town had died, not because of the mines running out which was usually the case but because of the ever expanding mining operations which are still in full swing today.
