RANNEY

NAME: Ranney
COUNTY: Kenosha
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 9
CLIMATE: Snowy winter, warm summer.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Year round.
COMMENTS: There are no residents living in the former town of Ranney. It's in the village of Pleasant Prarie. It's actually in grid number 11 on the map, but it wouldn't let me choose that number.
REMAINS: Foundations, railroad tracks.
The post office opened in 1885 and shut down in 1906. Ranney was once a popular stop for passenger trains along the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad. However, no passenger train has stopped there since 1862. There are no current residents or houses, as the last remaining house was torn down on July 31st, 2006. Submitted by: Cody Stuesser
