Mineral Hill, ½ mile southwest of Welcome, is one of the best ghost towns in the Hills. The big Mineral Hill mill is still standing, and even works occasionally, but the rest of the town is deserted. The mill and half-a-dozen mine buildings are on the east side of Spotted Tail Creek, and maybe ten more houses are on either side of the creek, a bit higher up. The best way to reach the town is from Welcome although the present owners do not encourage visitors. Submitted by Henry Chenoweth.
